KATHMANDU: Police arrested a man with possession of 1.5 kg undeclared gold from Makwanpur on Wednesday.

The suspect has been identified as Arjun Singh (30) of Gaur Municipality-13, Rautahat.

A police team deployed from the Area Police Office, Pashupatinagar, Makwanpur nabbed Singh from a bus (Ba 3 Kha 4746) heading towards Pathalaiya from Hetaunda during a security check at Ratemate Check Post in Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City-13.

The gold was in two pieces, police said.

According to DSP Bam Dev Gautam of the Districtg Police Office, Makwanpur, Singh has a jewellery shop in Gaur.

During the interrogation, Singh said that he had brought the gold for commercial purpose,but police said that he had brought the yellow metal illegally.

DSP Gautam said that he was heading towards Gaur after buying the precious metal from Kathmandu.

He said that Singh has been sent to the Office of Revenue Investigation, Pathalaiya, for investigation.
