One injured in Dhanusha bomb explosion

MAHENDRANAGAR: A woman was injured in a bomb explosion in Dhanushadham Municipality-9 of Dhanusha district on Thursday morning.

The injured has been identified as local Tirtha Maya Tamang (60).

According to police, Tamang was injured when a bomb exploded while she was fetching fodders from a jungle at Dharapani this morning, injuring her.

It has been learnt that the bomb was placed some 500 metres away from the East-West highway into the jungle.

Injured Tamang was rushed to the Janakpur Zonal Hospital where she has been undergoing treatment, informed police.

Tamang sustained deep injuries in her hands in the explosion, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Chakra Bahadur Singh at the District Police Office, Dhanusha.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
