One killed, dozens injured in bus-tipper collision

Siraha, November 22

One person died and about four dozen others were injured when a bus and tipper collided at Bandipur in Karjanha Municipality, Siraha, along the East-West Highway this evening.

Police identified the deceased as Jagadish Thakur, 50, of Sarlahi, Haripur. Thakur died while being rushed to the hospital for treatment.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhavraj Kharel of District Police Office, Siraha, 45 persons were injured. They are undergoing treatment at Karjanha-based Ful Kumari Memorial Hospital.

“Of the injured, the condition of seven is said to be critical. We are yet to get details of the accident,” SP Kharel  said.

The bus carrying a group of pilgrims had left for Sunsari’s Marewaghat from Sarlahi.
