One person died and five others, including two students, were injured when an ambulance and a school van collided in Devchuli, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta East) on Monday morning.
According to police, the accident occurred at Dumkoli Chowk in Devchuli-2 when an ambulance (Na 4 Cha 4616) heading towards Narayangadh with a patient collided head-on with a school van (Ba 20 Cha 72) coming from the opposite direction.
According to police, the van driver, 52-year-old Kul Prasad Subedi of Devchuli-1, succumbed to injuries during treatment at Chitwan Medical College Teaching Hospital. He had sustained injuries to his head and both legs and was pronounced dead at 9:20 am.
The injured, including the patient in the ambulance, have been taken to Manakamana Hospital in Bharatpur, Chitwan, where they are undergoing treatment, police said.
Meanwhile, investigation into the case is underway, police said.
