ITAHARI: A person was killed and five others were critically injured when a car they were aboard rammed into a tree by the roadside in Charkose Jhadi forest in Sunsari district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Bishnu Llimbu who appeared to be in his mid-40s.

The injured in the accident are Limbu's wife Dil Kumari Limbu (35), his 5-year-old son, the car driver and owner Rajendra Lwagun, his wife Sushila Lwagun, and his 10-year-old son Neeraj Lwagun.

The incident occurred when the car (Ba 15 Cha 2063) carrying two families' members, heading for Dharan from Itahari crashed into the tree on the edge of the road near Seuti, killing Limbu on the spot and injuring five others.

The injured have been rushed to Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, police said.
