RAJBIRAJ: An elderly was killed after being hit by a tractor at Barahibirpur of Chinnamasta Rural Municipality-2 in Saptari district.

The deceased has been identified as Tithar Marik (65), a local.

Marik was hit by the tractor (Ko 2 Ta 5523) while walking along the road, 11 kms south-west of Rajbiraj district headquarters.

Marik breathed his last while undergoing treatment in GNS Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital, police said.

According to police, the driver has been taken into custody and the vehicle has been impounded.

Police said they are investigating further into the case.
