One murdered with lethal weapon in Nawalparasi

KAWASOTI: A man has been murdered at Budhaulikuna in Kawasoti-13, Nawalparasi on Thursday.

According to police Inspector Hari Baruwal of the Area Police Office, Nawalpur, an unidentified person killed Bir Bahadur Tamang (48) of Budhaulikuna yesterday night.

He said that the murderer seems to have used a lethal weapon to slit the throat of Tamang.

Police have taken two suspects under control for investigation.

Of late, the case of murder, particularly by slitting the throat is reportedly on the rise in the district.

Recently, a man murdered his spouse by chopping off her neck.

Meanwhile, two girls here have been critically injured due to the thrashing of a burglar.

The burglar who broke into the rented room of Reshma Karki and her sister Rupa Karki at Kawasoti-3 in the district beat them black and blue after stealing their gold ornaments and some cash, police said. The injured siblings are receiving treatment at the Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur.

Police have stepped up surveillance in the district with the increasing number of burglary cases reported in the Area Police Office, Nawalpur.
