Onus of uniting NC rests on party president, says Paudel

Kawasoti, January 6

Senior Nepali Congress leader Ramchandra Paudel today said the onus of uniting the divided party lay with party President Sher Bahadaur Deuba.

Speaking at a programme organised by Press Union Nawalpur in Kawasoti, Paudel held the responsibility of uniting the NC was in the hands of Deuba. He stressed the need to unite the party from the bottom to the top level. “The NC party’s rank and file have to look at party policies and its symbol, not Deuba or Paudel.”

Paudel said Nepal’s communists were confused about their principle. “Nepal Communist Party leaders like Pushpa Kamal Dahal and KP Sharma Oli are still in a dilemma regarding the party’s doctrine. How can a party confused about its doctrine lead the country to prosperity and progress?” he wondered.

Flaying the KP Oli-led government, Paudel accused the incumbent government of shielding corruption and scams. “Wide-body, 33 kg gold and sugar incidents speak volumes about how the government is marred by corruption,” Paudel said.
