Opinion collection begins in Valley

Kathmandu, March 6:

The Constituent Assembly (CA) teams today began collecting public opinion on the future constitution from the general people in the Kathmandu Valley.

A team led by CA member Bishnu Rimal, deputed for Bhaktapur district, started collecting public opinion on the statute by organising an interaction at Araniko Hall.

“We distributed around 500 questionnaires to the people and they have already started returning the filled up questionnaires. Some have given their written opinions separately,” said Ambika Basnet, a team member. Six CA members are included in the team deputed for Bhaktapur.

Another team led by Barsaman Pun is going to collect public opinion in Lalitpur tomorrow. “The opinion collection will begin tomorrow by organising a programme at Lalitpur DDC,” said Pun. The team has 16 Constituent Assembly members.

A team lead by Suprabha Ghimire will collect opinion from Kathmandu folks from March 9.

The team has already held discussions with village development committee and ward secretaries, government officials, representatives of political parties, members of different organisations and civil society members to ease up the process of opinion collection, said Ghimire.
