Orphan teenager in dire need of help
BAJURA: Troubled by poor economic condition, an orphan teenager from Bajura district has been bed ridden due to a fractured leg for the past four months.
17-year-old Shiva Rokaya of Manakot in Gaumul Rural Municipality-5 broke his leg when he fell off a slope while grazing cattle at Bheralekh in Bajura.
Rokaya who lost his mother to blood cancer and whose father abandoned him 15 years ago could not afford a treatment and was bed ridden for two months in Bajura until a friend of his brought him to National Trauma Centre in Kathmandu, one and a half months ago.
Doctors at the Centre are yet to operate and fix Rokaya's leg. The cost of the treatment is expected to be around Rs 150,000.
However, without any financial assistance, Rokaya has not been able to afford the payment of hospital. Rs 20,000 which his friend Raj Rokaya managed to loan him for treatment was used in buying medicines and clearing hospital charges till date.
"We are left with no money for treatment and I have not purchased medicines for the past two days," Rokaya shared while calling out for help from National Trauma Centre in Kathmandu.
