Over 150 abducted

Dhading, February 25:

Maoists have abducted over 150 students and teachers from different places of Dhading in the last five days.

A group of Maoists abducted teacher Ram Hari Nepal of Khalte VDC-4 and 25 students of Panchakanya Lower Secondary School and Kanya Devi Lower Secondary School some five days ago.

The Maoists also abducted 125 students and 25 teachers of different schools situated at Dhuwankot, Katunje, Baseri, Budhathum and Mulpani VDCs of the district four days ago, parents of the abducted children said.

Maoists reportedly have abducted them to participate them in Maoist Peoples’ Education training and the district convention of Maoist aligned student union All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R).

District based human right organisations and NGOs, media personnel and lawyers have issued separate statements urging the maoists to release all the abductees immediately without any conditions.
