KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 31
More than 8,000 pilgrims visited the famous religious site, Pathivara, located at an altitude of 3,794 meters above sea level. Pathivara is situated in Taplejung, a hilly district in the eastern part of Nepal.
A total of 8,500 visitors reached and conducted puja at the pilgrimage site on Tuesday alone. Rajendra Mahat, an employee at the Pathivara Temple Area, stated that this was the highest number of arrivals at the religious site on a single day since the beginning of the fiscal year.
Previously, they had witnessed the arrival of 6,600 people in a day during the Dashain festival, but this record was broken on Tuesday due to the surge in pilgrim arrivals.
In recent years, managing the queue for conducting puja has become increasingly challenging. The Pathivara Area Development Committee and the Pathivara Devi Temple Preservation and Promotion Committee have been coordinating and leading the management of visitors' arrivals and worship.
The Committees reported that a total of 25,368 devotees have visited Pathivara from Ghatasthapana to Kojagrat Poornima.
The number of pilgrims has risen sharply, partly due to favorable weather conditions for a visit to Pathivara and ongoing road repairs."
