RUPANDEHI: Pajarkatti VDC of Rupandehi has been declared an open defecation free and fully literate zone.

Chief District Officer of Rupandehi Bishnu Prasad Dhakal, Chairperson of District Drinking Water and Sanitation and Local Development Officer Biswo Prakash Aryal and Drinking Water and Sanitation Division Office Chief Shanker Mani Gyawali jointly declared the VDC as open defecation free zone.

The VDC was declared open defecation free as all 871 houses here have constructed and used their own concrete toilets, Gyawali said.

Meanwhile, the VDC has also been declared fully literate zone with 95 per cent of its population literate.

At the declaration programme, the speakers had urged the people of Pajarkatti VDC to team up for further betterment of their area.
