KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu on Friday marked the 69th Independence Day of Pakistan.

Pakistani Ambassador to Nepal Arshad Saud Khosa hoisted the Pakistani national flag at a function held on the embassy premises in Maharajgunj. Embassy staff, their families, Pakistani community residing in Kathmandu and mediapersons attended the ceremony.

On the occasion, special messages from Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif were also read out. Pakistan gained independence from Britain on 14 August 1947, a day before India did.
