Pall of gloom shrouds Kailali village after death of six kids

DHANGADHI: Kattipur village of Dododhara in Kailali district Kailali is in sorrow after six children were killed in a mud mound collapse on Friday.

The children had gone to the mound in Kattipur, Dododhara-7, in order to fetch red clay to scrub their house walls and floors in the run-up to the Dashain festival.

Those who visited the sorrowful village to extend condolences to families, who lost their children, shed bitter tears on the death of six kids.

As soon as police got information about the incident, the law enforcement personnel and locals had rushed to the spot to rescue the children. But, they could not save.

While a child had died on the spot, five others had succumbed to injuries during treatment at a clinic in local Bardagariya.

All of the children were under 10 years.

“For us Dashain came with a misfortune,” said Abakala Pyakurel, who lost her grandson and granddaughter. “God robbed my remaining happiness.”

The bodies were handed over to the concerned families today, the District Police Office, Kailali said.
