Palpa trade fair draws 100 thousand visitors till fifth day
RAMPUR: The ongoing 12th Palpa Festival and Trade Fair made transactions worth over Rs 50 million so far.
According to Deepak Prasad Pandey, coordinator of economic management sub-committee of the event, more than 100 thousand people visited the fair till its fifth day on Monday.
Garments, hotel and restaurant businesses have so far dominated the fair organised by the Palpa Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
The fair showcased around 400 stalls that displayed items ranging from wooden crafts to agro products. The organisers have expected to welcome some 300 thousand visitors till its concluding day with transactions worth around Rs 100 million.
The festival kicked off on February 15 with the theme ‘agriculture, tourism, industry and trade in Palpa, abundant opportunities and possibilities’. The event would be organised till February 27, according to PCCI president Mohan Prasad Shrestha.
A photo exhibition introducing the district is also one of the main attractions of the festival.
