Panchkhal Municipality to hold investment conference

Kavre, November 15

Kavre’s Panchkhal Municipality is planning to hold an investment conference this fiscal. Panchkhal Municipality Mayor Mahesh Kharel confirmed the information, hoping the conference would be a great fillip for development of the municipality.

“Various development projects, both international and national, have kicked off in Panchkhal, and I hope the conference will be instrumental for development of the municipality,” Kharel said.

The mayor said that the municipality planned to attract investment in animal husbandry and agriculture through the conference. “While work for the construction of a special economic zone, and Sunkoshi Panchkhal Extensive Drinking Water Project has already begun, we have also allocated land to set up National Youth Innovation Centre, and Integrated and Smart City. What we need now is more investment,” said the mayor. “As Panchkhal has huge potential for tourism and places of touristic value have been linked by road, investors are likely to invest here,” he said.

Earlier, Rupandehi’s Tilottama Municipality had held an investment conference for the first time.

As per a municipality source, proposals will be presented at the conference seeking investment mainly for the establishment of industries, big hotels and for modernisation of agriculture and animal husbandry.

According to municipality Chief Administrative Officer Lok Bahadur Bhandari, discussions were on to exempt tax for employment-oriented industries and projects.
