LAMJUNG: To honour the contributions of National Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire, a park has been constructed in his name at Pustun, Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-6 of Lamjung district.

The rural municipality had allocated a budget of Rs 1 million for the construction of the park. According to Lil Bahadur Ghale, Chair of Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-6, the locals also contributed labour equivalent to 25 per cent of the total budget.

The park, being constructed in Ghimire's birthplace Pustun, is expected to flourish tourism in the district. Arjun Gurung, member of the rural municipality opined that the park would be a hub for literary tourism.

National Poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire -- who made remarkable contributions in Nepali literature -- was born on September 23, 1919 AD in Bahundada, Pustun of Lamjung district.
