Parliament staffers in Pokhara

Pokhara, January 30

A four-member team from the Parliament Secretariat arrived in Province 4 temporary headquarters, Pokhara, today to prepare for the first ever meeting of the Provincial Assembly here.

Joint-secretary Jibaraj Budhathoki, Under-secretary Gopal Sigdel, Officer Ananta Koirala and Technical Assistant Sudarsan Gautam of the Parliament Secretariat are in the team assigned to help prepare for the PA meeting. “We will be here for about a month to help the staff furnish the meeting venues and ministries and offices, besides training them in procedural and other matters to be followed during meetings,” said Budhathoki.

According to Budhathoki, the Provincial Assembly will be furnished after the fashion of the Parliament. “As the speaker has a place in the front of the Parliament, the Provincial Assembly too will have a place for the speaker at the front with PA members from the ruling and opposition parties on either side and separate places for staff and journalists,” he said.

Meanwhile, the new building of skill development office is being furnished.

“Though the building is still under construction, work has been expedited to prepare the chief minister’s office, cabinet meeting hall etc,” said Building Construction Division Office Chief Kishorlal Mahaju, adding that the office of the chief secretary will also be located in the same building.
