RAJBIRAJ, NOVEMBER 6
Participants attending a district-based orientation programme organised by District Election Office, Saptari, today expressed concern about the violation of election code of conduct despite the office's frequent warnings to various parties and election candidates here in Rajbiraj.
Speaking at the programme, Chief Election Officer Hemanta Rawal said the parties have to follow the election code prepared by themselves.
He said the election office had organised the orientation three times for the stakeholders, but in vain. Rawal said it was necessary to follow the election code to hold the election in free, fair and fearless environment.
Rawal said he has been talking to Supaul in India, and Madhubani-based District Magistrate and SP to beef up security at the border during the elections. He further urged all the political parties and candidates to abide by the election code of conduct.
Chief District Officer Bhupendra Thapa informed that the candidacy of the candidates violating election code could be revoked. "Even mediapersons have to follow the election code," he added.
