Senior climbing guide from Imagine Nepal Treks, Pasang Namgyal Sherpa, has successfully summited Broad Peak on Saturday morning.
According to Mingma G, Managing Director at Imagine Nepal Trek, this exceptional achievement confirms Pasang's conquest of all 14 of the world's highest peaks. Broad Peak, the 12th highest mountain globally, stands at an impressive 8,051 meters above sea level.
Pasang has climbed some of the 8,000-meter peaks several times. The list of the 14 8,000-meter peaks he successfully ascended in recent years includes:
- Everest (8848m) in 2022
- K2 (8611m) in 2022
- Kanchenjunga (8586m) in 2022
- Lhotse (8516m) in 2023
- Makalu (8463m) in 2022
- Cho Oyu (8201m) in 2008
- Dhaulagiri-I (8167m) in 2016

Pasang Namgyal Sherpa, also known as the "Himalayan Tiger," is a legendary Nepalese climber who frequently climbed with veteran Korean climbers. He earned the nickname "Himalayan Tiger" from the Koreans due to his bravery and ferocity in the mountains. Pasang holds the distinction of being the sole Nepali climber to have summitted Lhotse Shar, an 8,400-meter peak in the formidable Lhotse range, and Yalung Khang (8,505m), a peak in the Kanchenjunga Himal range.
