BHOJPUR: A teenage girl died after being swept away by a river in Pathari Sanischare Municipality of Morang district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Sarita Karki (16) of Kahairang, in Hatuwagadhi Rural Municipality of Bhojpur district.

Karki was swept away while she was guiding her livestocks across the Pathari River yesterday, said the Pathari-based  Area Police Office.

She had been living at her uncle Dan Bahadur Karki's house in Pathari Sanischare Municipality-6 in the district, according to Police.

Her body was recovered some 200 metres down the river.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the case is underway, informed police.
