KATHMANDU: A pedestrian died on the spot after being hit by a truck in Baniyatar of Kathmandu on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Rishi Ram Pandit (35) of Byas Municipality in Tanahun.

The incident occurred when the truck (Ba 2 Kha 5730) hit the passenger at around 4:45 am today, said police.

The Balaju-based Metropolitan Police Circle has impounded the truck and arrested its driver for further investigation.
