MORANG: A pedestrian was killed in a road mishap in Koshi Haraicha Municipality-9 along the East-West Highway in Morang district on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Padam Kumari Bhatta (Ghimire) of Shadananda Municipality-4 in Bhojpur district, according to Police Inspector Meghraj Thapa of the Belbari Area Police Office.

Bhatta died on the spot in the incident.

The accident took place when a bus (Na 5 Kha 7083) en route to Narayangadh of Chitwan district from Kakadbhitta of Jhapa district hit her.

Police have arrested the bus driver for further investigation and impounded the vehicle.
