Wongchhu Peak Promotion has successfully organised Musa Masala Intermediate Lead Climbing Competition 2023 at Crimpanzee Adventure Hub in Mahankal, Kathmandu.
According to Lakpa Sherpa, Managing Director at Wongchhu Peak Promotion, the one-day event held on November 6 received more than 40 contestants along with high-level dignitaries.
The climbing wall competition was a very exciting and thrilling event sponsored by Musa Masala.
"Pemba Tsewang, David Romano and Tashi Sherpa secured first, second and third position respectively in male category while Suresh Tamang and Pasang Tenji Sherpa stood as fourth and fifth winners," Lakpa said.
Similarly Prena Rai, Sara Frenning and Angela Widler won the first, second and third title of the event in the female category while Tenzing KhandoTamang and Fura Diki Sherpa secured the fourth and fifth position, according to her.
Nirvana, Crimpanzee Adventure Hub, Raeko Adventure Trading Group, Makalu e Traders, Hotel Yak & yeti, Hotel Mulberry, The Soaltee Hotel, Nepali Ghar, Scarpa, Beal, Camp, La Sportiva, Black Diamond & Himalayan Rescue Association co-sponsored the event while Pem Dorjee Sherpa, Moni Sherpa and Kami Sherpa supported the completion as the individual sponsors. Along with Nepali participants, the competition also had the participants participating from countries such as US, Japan & France
"In each category, winners received a cash prize of NRS 25,000, 1-year membership at Crimpanzee Adventure Hub, medal, certificate of acknowledgment, and gift hamper from sponsors while first runner up got a cash prize of NRS 15,000, 6-month membership at Crimpanzee Adventure Hub, medal, certificate of acknowledgment, and gift hamper from sponsors as well as the second runner up received a cash prize of NRS 10,000, 3-month membership at Crimpanzee Adventure Hub, medal, certificate of acknowledgment, and gift hamper from the sponsors," Lakpa shared.
Scarpa shoes, La Sportiva shoes, Raeko Jacket, Musa Buff, Beal Harness, La Sportiva T-shirt, lunch and breakfast coupons were also given to the winners.
The event, which was supported by the National Sports Council and Nepal Olympic Committee, aims to promote and develop climbing skills of Nepali climbers, enabling them to compete at an international level, she shared. All the participants shall have free registration for next year's climbing competition, Lakpa shared.
Wongchuu Peak Promotion Pvt. Ltd also organized the Musa Masala Wall Climbing Competition for beginners on Oct 16th, 2022 which was also sponsored by Musa Masala.
