People want rule of law: Mahat

Chitwan, December 5

Central member of the Nepali Congress Ramsharan Mahat said people are for the rule of law.

People elected those who advocated and abided by the rule of law, he said at a programme held to congratulate the new ward chairperson elected in the recent by-election in Chitwan.

Mahat claimed that people voted for the NC because the NC corrected its past mistakes while the government caused despair among them.

Chief Whip of the NC Balkrishna Khand said that at a time when the country had a communist government with two-thirds majority, people had favoured the Nepali Congress for protection and strengthening of democracy.
