PLA ex-combatant with disabilities raped in Rolpa
ROLPA: A 25-year-old woman with physical disabilities was raped in Triveni Rural Municipality-5 of Rolpa district.
The alleged victim is also the former combatant of People's Liberation Army, Nepal, who has been suffering from verbal and physical disabilities after sustaining injuries during the Maoists' decade-long insurgency in the country.
Police have detained suspect Hari Prasad Kami (51) of the same rural municipality, for allegedly raping the woman.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the Rolpa District Police Office, Gyanendra Phuyal said that the victim has been sent home after having her health check-up in the District Hospital.
Further investigation into the case is underway, police informed.
