Photo and video journalism training for Jhapa scribes

BIRTAMOD:  A day-long photo and video journalism training has been organised by Jhapa chapter of the Federation of Nepali Journalists in Birtamod of Jhapa district on Saturday.

American Professor Cally Hope is the instructor at the training.

Speaking on the occasion, 97 per cent of news stories in the United States are known through videos, shared Hope.

As many as 40 working journalists have been participating in the programme, informed the branch secretary Santosh Acharya.

Meanwhile, at the same programme, local social worker Harka Lal Giri and media entrepreneur Kumar Bhattarai contributed Rs 51,000 each to the Journalist Support Treatment Fund established by FNJ, Jhapa.

The FNJ Jhapa is targeting to garner Rs 10 million for the Fund, which shall come into operation from mid-August.

Journalists can join the fund for an entry fee of Rs 3,000 and get support from it in case of accident or illness, Fund Coordinator Ekraj Giri said.
