Pillay arrives on 5-day trip

Kathmandu, March 18:

Navanethem Pillay, the newly-elected UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, arrived in Kathmandu today on a five-day visit to assess human rights situation here.

During her visit, she is likely to propose to set up an office for South and West Asia Regional Office of the High Commissioner for Human rights in Kathmandu.

She is scheduled to visit President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav and civil society members.
