KATHMANDU: In a bid to expedite its task, the Special Committee on Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of the Maoist combatants on Tuesday decided to hold its meeting on a weekly basis.

The decision has been taken at a time when the government is under mounting pressure to complete the process of integration and rehabilitation of the Maoist fighters before the UNMIN'S mandate expires by January 23, 2010.

The possibility of integration of Maoist combatants within the next three months was also discussed. However, the meeting was undecided over the code of conduct of PLA and modality of mechanism to bring them under the control of the committee.
