Itahari, June 29:

The Maoist People’s Liberation Army (PLA) personnel from the sub-camp of the PLA’s first division at Yangsila of Morang seized a pick-up van belonging to the Sunsari District Agriculture Development Office (SDADO) from the Seuti road section of Koshi Highway today.

“PLA personnel, saying that district traffic police office Sunsari seized a motorbike of PLA yesterday, seized a van (Ba 1 Jha 5429) belonging to the SDADO at 11:30 am today,” SDADO kharidar Narendra Prasad Timilsina said.

Kharidar Timilsina further said that the motorbike was seized from the Seuti Bridge while it was returning to Itahari from Dharan. The Maoists have taken the vehicle to the PLA sub-camp at Yangsila of Morang.

“The van will not be returned until our YBX motorbike seized by the police from Bhotepul of Dharan is returned,” secretary of the Maoist Chhintang Sukhani Memorial Brigade Biru Subba said.

“This is only the beginning if our vehicle is not returned. We will seize other government vehicles also.”

“As the bike was without licence and a blue book, we seized it,” chief of the Sunsari district traffic police office Prem Shahi said.

He added that the Maoists should not meddle in legal procedures.
