Plane crash averted

Nepalgunj, April 3:
An Twin-Otter aircraft belonging to the Yeti Airlines was hit by a stone rolling from a hill while the plane was landing at the Juphal Airport today. However, no untoward incident was reported.
The plane had flown for Dolpa from Nepalgunj.
The crew managed to avert crashing the aircraft, Yag Bahadur Rajaur, a Royal Nepalese Army officer at the RNA mid-west division, Ranjha, Nepalgunj, said. The plane which left for Dolpa at 8 am today has been kept at the Juphal Airport after the accident.
Pilot Prabhakar Ghimire saved the plane from getting crashed, said Rajaur said. The aircraft had 10 passengers and a cargo of 510 kg. A team has already arrived here from Kathmandu to probe the case. The team will be leaving for Dolpa tomorrow, officials said.
