Playground mired

MYAGDI: A multi-purpose playground in Beni, the headquarters of Myagdi district, constructed by spending hundreds of thousands of rupees is in a state of neglect due to a dispute. The 300-metres-long and 50-metres wide playground was constructed in December 2006 at a total cost of Rs. 4.7 million under the leadership of the District Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The playground has turned into a grazing land and full of bushes as the local consumer committee and the Myagdi Chamber of Commerce and Industry are in dispute regarding the use of the ground and distribution of income. According to the District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the ground was constructed with the objective of using it as a bus park, playground and ground for local market.
