Plea to allow army integration

Dhankuta, November 20:

Chairman of the Constituent Assembly Subas Chandra Nembang has urged the political parties to not create petty obstacles to the integration of the two armies.

Speaking at a meet organised by the Dhankuta Chapter of Press Chautari this morning, he said the two armies should be merged on the basis of the peace accord.

He said the constitution drafting process had started and claimed that the task would be completed in the stipulated period. Stating that the foundation of the constitution-building lay in people, civil society and mediapersons, he urged the people to exert pressure on the political parties whenever they were likely to delay the vital task.

Nembang repeated that all the political parties had expressed their commitment to writing the constitution. Stating that the government had not yet formed the commission for state restructuring, Nembang said, he had reminded the government of the task quite often. The CA Chair said he was in support of Kirant, Limbuwan as well as of Nepal and its people.

He hoped for a positive outcome of the ongoing talks with the agitating groups.
