PM Dahal seeks suggestions from legal eagles on LBRC report

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday invited legal eagles, including Attorney General Raman Kumar Shrestha, and asked them to offer him suggestions on the report that the Local Body Restructuring Commission recently submitted to the government.

During a meeting at the PM's official residence in Baluwatar, PM Dahal asked them how the report could be made widely acceptable, a statement issued by the PM's Secretariat said.

Other experts included Nepal Bar Association's President Sher Bahadur KC, General Secretary Khamba Bahadur Khati, and advocates Surendra Mahato and Dipendra Jha.

In response, the guests opined that the government could always revise the report as per the need of the hour because the LBRC report was suggestion, that is to say not obligatory for implementation.

But they sought some time to study the report before offering further suggestion to the Prime Minister.
