KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 6

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has inspected the earthquake-affected areas of Bajhang, today.

During his visit, he assessed the damage caused by the earthquake and provided reassurance to the earthquake-affected locals regarding immediate relief measures.

PM Dahal also stated that the government will promptly determine the extent of the damage and take necessary steps to repair and reconstruct earthquake-damaged houses.

The Prime Minister left for Bajhang in a Nepali Army helicopter at 11 a.m. this morning. He is scheduled to return to Kathmandu in the evening itself.

Along with the PM, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Foreign Minister NP Saud, and the Chief of the National Disaster Management Authority Anil Pokharel had flown to Bajhang.

A person died while a dozen others got injured in the earthquake that occurred on October 3. Similarly, hundreds of houses were damaged in the quake and its subsequent aftershock.

Meanwhile, two more earthquakes were felt last night with epicenters at Chainpur of Bajhang.
