PM Oli relieves Asst Minister Bista of his duty

Kathmandu, April 27

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today relieved Assistant Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Biraj Bahadur Bista of his duty.

The PM took the step days after Kamal Thapa-led Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal, whom Bista represented in the coalition government, wrote to the PM seeking his recall from the government.

The prime minister’s Press Adviser Pramod Dahal said the PM took the decision to relieve Bista of his duty as requested by the latter’s party.

RPP-N sought the recall of Bista after the latter’s relations with the party leadership soured.

A few weeks ago RPP-N had also expelled Bista’s father Keshar Bahadur Bista from the party’s membership for three years.

RPP-N lawmaker Resham Lama, 44 replaced Biraj Bahadur Bista.

Lama, a resident of Kavre district was sworn in as Assistant Minister of Federal Affairs and Local Development.

Lama has been associated with party since its inception and is currently a Central Committee member of RPP-N.
