PM Oli urged to become flexible

Kathmandu, November 23

As many as 28 Madhesi leaders of the ruling CPN-UML today decided to hand over a memorandum to Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli demanding immediate resolution of the crisis in the country.

According to UML politburo member Banshidhar Mishra, 28 Madhesi leaders of the party will urge the party chairman and prime minister to take initiative to resolve the crisis by being flexible on the demands of the agitating Madhes-based parties.

Mishra said the 28 leaders include three politburo members Nagendra Chaudhary and Satrughan Mahato besides himself and Members of Parliament and Central Committee members.

He said the leaders will also urge the PM to resolve the issue of demarcation with maximum flexibility and added that as per the Interim Constitution, election constituencies should be formed on the basis of population with all the districts having at least one constituency.

“We have not taken any stance on demarcation and demand that the party resolve the issue through political consensus,” Mishra said, adding that they would hand over the memorandum to PM tomorrow.
