PM briefs Maoist lawmakers about China visit

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal today briefed the CPN Maoist Centre lawmakers about his scheduled visit to China.

PM Dahal, who is also the Maoists' Chairman, also discussed contemporary political developments, ongoing parliamentary session among other issues at the Parliamentary Party meeting today.

The party's Chief Whip Tek Bahadur Basnet shared that PM Dahal justified that the current Parliament session was prolonged so as to seek consensus among political parties and to pass necessary laws for the elections.

Meanwhile, expressing sorrow over recent violent incidents in Kanchanpur and Saptari districts, the PP members urged the government to provide reliefs to the families of deceased in both the incidents.

Similarly, the meeting has decided to prepare separate reports after receiving complaints on local level restructuring and disputes about borders of the local units.

In response, PM Dahal assured the PP members to address their concerns.
