Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged the private sector to present a concrete proposal for reviving sick industries through a partnership model.
Speaking at a meeting of the Commerce-Industry Promotion Dialogue Council at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today, he called on the private sector to swiftly propose viable plans, reaffirming the government's willingness to collaborate on a partnership basis.
PM Oli expressed the government's commitment to formulating and amending relevant laws to create a conducive business environment. He also assured support to the private sector in driving economic prosperity. Emphasizing the need for strict measures against irregularities in customs and revenue, he underscored that national development requires wealth creation and cannot be achieved solely through capital investment.
Council members recommended co-investment and collaboration under a public-private partnership model, increased use of domestic products in public institutions, measures to reduce the trade deficit, effective implementation of ordinances, and timely completion of infrastructure projects.
The meeting also reviewed the government's efforts toward economic and administrative reforms, amendments to 29 laws through ordinances and their positive impact, progress in development projects, and initiatives for start-ups and trade facilitation.
