Metropolis staff prepare to receive local leaders

Pokhara, May 21

Staffers at Pokhara-Lekhnath Metropolitan Office of Kaski are busy preparing to receive newly-elected local leaders.

“Though Pokhara is a metropolis, the metropolitan office doesn’t have enough physical infrastructure. We have done our best to revamp the office to accommodate local leaders,” said Executive Officer of the metropolis Dirgha Narayan Poudel.

Poudel added, “We have also managed rooms for the to-be-elected mayor and deputy mayor after necessary repairs.” The metropolitan office has also formed a committee to manage the reception of elected representatives, repair offices and look over other preparations.

“As of now, we have been using available resources as we don’t have a separate budget for this,” he said.

“Offices of Wards 1 to 25 will run from their respective previous infrastructure. The office of Ward 11 will stay put in the building of Tuberculosis Prevention Organisation until another arrangement, while a new building is being constructed to set up the office of Ward 15.”
