RAJBIRAJ: A police constable was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a pole at Sitapur road stretch along the East-West Highway in Saptari on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Gyandev Yadav (33) of Prasbani VDC-5, said the Rupani Area Police Office.

The police constable, who was deployed at Thoksilla of Udayapur, was heading towards West on the ill-fated bike (Ko 26 Pa 3001) when the accident took place, police added.

Seriously injured Yadav died in course of treatment at the Rajbiraj-based Gajendranarayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital, police informed.
