BIRATNAGAR: An Armed Police Force (APF) Constable was injured after being shot at by demonstrators in Mirchaiya-5 of Siraha on Saturday.

The injured has been identified as Constable Bipin Rai. He sustained bullet injuries to his right arm, according to the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar.

The incident reportedly took place as the APF unit was trying to open a blocked section along the East-West Highway last night.

Demonstrators had obstructed the highway in Mirchaiya by uprooting trees on the road.
