RAJBIRAJ: Police in Saptari on Tuesday held ten cows from the bank of Balan River at Tikuliya-6 in Saptari district that were being reportedly smuggled to India.

The person involved in the smuggling of the cattle is learned to have fled the scene when a patrol team deployed from Dhati-based Police Post restrained him, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dan Bahadur Karki.

Meanwhile, the cows have been kept at the customs office in Tilathi in the district for further investigation, said DSP Karki.
