Vehicle found abandoned in suspicious condition at Bhedetar; search underway for those involved

DHANKUTA, JANUARY 12

Police have seized an ambulance carrying a large quantity of marijuana from Bhedetar in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-6 of Dhankuta district.

According to the Koshi Province Police Office, Biratnagar, a total of 459.965 kilograms of marijuana was recovered from the ambulance during a late-night operation on Sunday.

The seizure was made at around 8 pm on January 11 after a police team deployed from the Area Police Office, Bhedetar, stopped and inspected an ambulance (registration number Na 4 Cha 6474) found parked on the roadside in suspicious circumstances near Bhedetar.

During the search, police discovered the contraband marijuana packed in plastic bags inside the ambulance.

Police said a search operation is underway to identify and arrest those involved in transporting the illegal drugs.
