Poll campaigning stepped up

Candidates contesting the third phase of the civic polls have intensified election campaigning in Bara. Candidates are seen making door-to-door visits canvassing voters.
Party candidates have pledged many things, including economic prosperity, quality educational and infrastructure development. Heath, education, drinking water and roads are major poll agendas of the candidates.
Parties are expected to have a tough fight to clinch victory in two sub metropolitan cities in the district. Candidates of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist Centre, Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal, Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal, among others, are busy from dawn to dusk seeking votes.
UML, NC and CPN-MC’s candidates Krishna Paudel, Krishnawarta Singh and Rajan Paudel respectively are competing for the mayoral post in Jitpursimara sub-metropolis. UML’s Paudel is an auditor and social worker in the sub metropolis. NC’s Singh worked as the chair of Jitpur VDC while Maoist Centre’s Paudel is known as development friendly youth leader in the sub-metropolis.
Similarly, the NC, CPN-UML, CPN-MC, Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal, and Rastriya Janata Party Nepal are in close race in Kaliaya Sub-Metropolitan City. UML’s Binod Sah, NC’s Rajeshray Yadav, Maoist’s Mukesh Sah, RJP-N’s Jaya Prakash Sah and FSF-N’s Pramod Gupta are contesting the polls for the post of mayor in Kalaiya sub-metropolis.
