KATHMANDU: The Election Commission on Friday recalled officials deployed for the elections in Province 2.

The polls panel said all EC officials, civil servants, and other government employees deployed in Province 2 for the elections were recalled, as they do not have election related works to do there.

“Election is scheduled after 90 days in Province 2. So we recalled all employees deployed there,” said EC Commissioner Naendra Dahal. He said the EC would deploy employees in Province 2 for the elections later.

The polls panel has also shut down offices of Chief returning officers and returning officers in all districts of province-2.
