DAMAULI: A woman in Tanahun on Sunday registered a case of polygamy against her husband at the District Police Office.

Lalita Shrestha, 22, from Campus Road at Bhimad registered the complaint.

After more than 200 locals from Lalita’s parental home at Majhkot picketed the police office and shouted slogans, police was forced to file a case of polygamy against Lalita’s husband Rabi Shrestha.

After Rabi Shrestha brought home Shova Gurung as his second wife, Lalita had tried to file the case. Police, however, had been reluctant to register a case.

Inspector Premshankar Chaudhary said police had arrested Rabi and his second wife Shova on the basis of the case filed by Lalita.
