Post office staff set to begin protest

Rajbiraj, December 18

Employees in additional post offices across the country are set to launch an agitation for better salary and perks. A national conference of employees from all over the country has been called for December 22 to prepare for the protest.

“The gathering of 10,770 employees from 3,474 additional post offices will form a struggle committee and float the agitation programmes,” said Nepal Additional Post Office Employees National Conference Preparation Committee Coordinator Dev Narayan Yadav, at a press conference today. “We at the additional post office, were working for a measly Rs 6,000 monthly salary. Our frequent calls to address our concerns were ignored.”

As per Yadav, they have prepared a 14-point demand that includes demand for salary and perks on par with civil servants.
