Kanchanpur, December 1:

It is common that government staff get transfer from one office to another. But what if when a VDC staffer, who had already died, is transferred to an office of another district. It sounds unbelievable, but it is true.

In Kanchanpur, late VDC secretary of Jhalari, Bishnu Dutta Bhatta, got a transfer letter after 15 days of his death.

Though his death was informed to the Ministry of Local Development (MoLD) by telephone and fax, the letter stating his transfer to Achham district came in Kanchanpur DDC on November 12 via fax, said acting LDO Krishna Kumar Niraula, adding that the letter came due to carelessness.
